Showcasing his stuttering spin on hip-hop beats, Parisian producer Sport G,
who records as FantastikClick & Sport G., demonstrates no shortage of ideas and energy on Smooth Puff.
After Rocket Sci-Fi his second Longplayer and he comes on strong!
Like the album’s neon-scorched cover, he doesn’t do restraint or subtlety.

« Crystallization » sets the standard of the album and has to be the true over-the-top laser-sci-fi moment of the already wired album.
“Wanna” is an amazingly laid back tune with bass plucks and stomping beats.
“To Live” is a skippy hiphop track with vocal snippets and beautiful pad & harp bits.
It might also obliquely suggest where Sport is going with this electronic craziness.
He gets both richer and more restless with title track “Smooth Puff”, aiming to inject more soul into his skewered style while still fidgeting through pitched-up, Premier-inspired beats, tripped-up drum patterns, and spaced-out 8-bit melodies.
Sport G already has quite a track record of refracting instrumental hip-hop and downtempo electronica through his own neon-colored prism and on this album he knows how to develop his own unique style even more.
”Clap vs Bass” flows with the kind of neon-tinted beats he does best, almost tropical in the way they suggest warmth and sunshine, and sometimes deliriously happy.
Melodylines on tracks such as “Hey”and “The Game” aren’t just bright, they’re blinding and buoyant!
Closer “Hot Dogs” features some of his most wobbling, histrionic beats and showcase his talent for clever yet subtle arranging.

With such a promising debut as Rocket Sci-Fi and now the even better Smooth Puff under his belt, you can bet that Sport’s studios skills will have plenty of folks knockin’ in the future.

I’m Sport G aka FantastikClick & Sport G, producer and artworker from Paris.

I love working with my MPC, searching for rare tone, building a strong and fluid downtempo, reminiscing over Hip Hop and House, seeking inspiration in Jazz and Soul, playing with all kind of electronics. The beat is my passion!

I released my first album « Rocket Sci Fi » in Nov. 2010 on 4lux recordings.

My new EP called “LIGHT “ is Out on Singapore’s Darker Than Wax label (Cosa Nostra, Kaye, Miss MIC and DJ Funk Bastard).
